Any botanists reading this?
If so, what’s going on here?
Why do some of these flowers have six petals…..
and some have seven…….?

I love diversity… always brought up to celebrate difference… so want everyone to join that advice, way of life!
Have been sitting in garden last few evenings, reading and drawing and listening to birds while my children play and ask questions like ‘Why is that plant growing out of the crack in our path’. So, I asked him to draw a picture of this wee plant reaching out from the small space its seed just happened to find itself. Then, when I sat down I thought that ‘God, this grass needs cut’. It is knee high. What I also noticed though was the amount of ‘wild’ flowers that have sprung up in the garden. How the branches of the tree I was sitting under had grown and where blooming. How the sparrows and blue tits and starlings talked to each other about the seeds I planted in hanging baskets in that same tree. I just sat back with my book and music and a cold glass of beer and thought that the last thing I wanted to do was cut the grass. Might be different tomorrow mind you.
