We all have different rhythms, and different ways of getting going, or keeping going.
Popped into Tinderbox (the Byres Road one) recently for breakfast and saw this cup lying on the next table.
Can you imagine taking this much sugar in your coffee to get going every morning?

I find my body revolts at excessive amounts of sugar in the morning, though it’s just fine with the same amounts later in the day. I think I’d pass out if I drank the amount in the picture to get my day going 🙂
How big are those packets? To be fair, that is quite a large cup. I *might* take that much sugar in a cup of espresso drink that size. Usually though, I end up with some kind of latte, my stomach can’t take espresso anymore. Let’s hope that either that was an uncommon indulgence, or that the person doesn’t really eat sugary foods or add sugar to their diet otherwise. (Looks like some kind of cinnamony or chocolatey, foamy espresso/cappuchino type drink to me. Mmmmm!)
Yeah, I can’t have excessively sweet things first thing in the morning either. No pancakes/waffles with syrup for breakfast for me, without first having eggs, toast, or hash browns. Oddly though, things like orange juice and other fruits are ok. Otherwise I feel cruddy later on when the sugar wears off.
