After I enjoyed another sunset and had finished taking some photos I turned around to walk back to the house.
With my back to the setting sun I faced east and right in front of my eyes I saw the mulberry tree bathed in golden light, the shadows of the lowest leaves painted onto the trunk of the tree.
Isn’t this beautiful?
And all because I turned from the main attraction and looked the other way.
Yet another gobsmackingly beautiful photo from your good self, Bob! I never cease to be amazed at the photos you put onto your blog. Facing east at sunset may seem a bit counter-intuitive, but as you’ve just demonstrated, it can be very effective. Myra and I live on the eastern shore of the Isle of Seil in Argyll, so we don’t get to see the actual sunset directly, but during the late summer evenings, we see the light of the setting sun reflected off the hills and trees of the opposite side of Seil Sound, and it’s amazingly vivid. I wish I had a fraction of your photographic ability to capture it!
Oh thanks Martin. That’s very kind of you. I’m glad the photos bring you joy. That’s why I share them!
